Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group (NCIG) has recently published the 2023 Sustainability Report.
The report measures our progress towards our three-year sustainability targets and details our ambitious goal of achieving net zero operational emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) by 2030.
Once again structured around our people, culture, plant, environment, community, stakeholders and customers, the report provides an overview of the challenges faced and the achievements of our team during the period, including:
· 44.7Mt coal loaded
· 497 ships loaded
· 1,434 days Lost Time Injury free achieved
· 10% certified renewable energy
· 67.6% waste recycled
· 78% reduction in potable water use
· 1st in peer industry group 2023 GRESB ESG benchmark survey
· $28.2m local economic spend
· $344,000 invested in community initiatives across 59 community groups
