Through our people we are an integral part of the local community and believe we have a responsibility to positively contribute to the community in which we operate and that being connected to our community is an important part of what we do. We welcome constructive interaction and actively engage, cooperate and partner with our community to hear their feedback and understand their concerns.
We engage with our community through face-to-face meetings, and via traditional and digital media. We encourage constructive interaction and actively co-operating with members of the local community. We provide a 24-hour enquiries line to enable us to respond to the community and other stakeholders in real-time, and we have established a Community Engagement Group to ensure that members of our community remain informed about what we’re doing and why.
Through funding or through in-kind contributions, we support not-for-profit organisations, charities, sports teams and community groups that align with our values. We focus on creating value and impact on community involvement, environment, physical and mental health and education. Through our Community Support Program (CSP) and Community Partnership Program (CPP), we contribute more than $250,000 back into our local community each year.
Our Community Engagement Group (CEG) is a forum that was re-established in 2019 and is made up of passionate Novocastrians who hold the community’s wellbeing at heart. It’s through them that we seek feedback and guidance on community related issues and events and ensure that the community has a voice in to our operations. At each meeting we discuss matters such as operational updates, environmental performance, current projects and upcoming community activities. The Minutes from our CEG meetings are published on our website, to establish and maintain transparency for our community.
