NCIG Wins Host Employer Innovation Award at Zeal Futures Excellence Awards

May 20, 2025

NCIG has been recognised for its commitment to innovation and workforce development, taking home the prestigious Host Employer Innovation Award at the 2025 Zeal Futures Excellence Awards.

Held annually, the Zeal Futures Excellence Awards recognise individual and business achievements, highlighting the value of vocational education and training pathways in Australia.

NCIG was recognised for the quality of our apprentices and the level of training and support we provide, highlighting our efforts to create impactful training and development opportunities for emerging talent in the industry.

We were also acknowledged for our efforts in mentoring and encouraging our apprentices to take on additional studies and obtain additional post trade qualifications. At NCIG we have a strong dedication to workforce development and integrate our apprenticeship program with Zeal Futures alongside leadership training, specialist certifications, and structured career pathways.

Our proactive investment in employee growth, unwavering commitment to safety, and inclusive workplace culture has resulted in a 100% apprentice completion rate—a figure we are extremely proud of. We are also committed to fostering diversity, providing targeted opportunities for women to pursue careers in non-traditional trades.

NCIG has been partnering with Zeal Futures for 10 years, with 11 apprentices recruited through the partnership. This award is a testament to our team’s dedication to developing future talent and creating a workplace culture built on learning and innovation.

“We are incredibly honoured to receive the Host Employer Innovation Award”, said Aaron Johansen, CEO NCIG. “At NCIG, we believe that investing in people is the key to long-term success—both for our business and the broader industry. This award reflects the passion and commitment of our entire team in creating a dynamic and supportive environment where our apprentices can thrive.”

The Zeal Futures Excellence Awards were held on Friday 16 May 2025, bringing together industry leaders, educators, and emerging professionals to celebrate excellence in vocational education and training across NSW.
