Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group (NCIG) has recently published the 2024 Sustainability Report.
The report measures our progress towards our sustainability targets and details our ambitious goal of achieving net zero operational emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) by 2030.
Once again structured around our people, culture, plant, environment, community, stakeholders and customers, the repo20rt provides an overview of the challenges faced and the achievements of our team during the period, including:
· 49 Mt coal loaded
· 545 ships loaded
· 1,800 days Lost Time Injury free achieved
· 30% purchased certificate renewable energy
· 74% waste recycled
· 80% reduction in potable water use
· $34.4m local economic spend
· $392,000 invested in community initiatives across 63 community groups
