Logistics Superintendent

Where logistics leadership meets customer impact.

Are you an experienced logistics or operations leader ready to take on a role where your decisions genuinely make a difference? We’re looking for a Logistics Superintendent to lead our logistics function and act as the key customer interface for our terminal operations.

As a key link between NCIG and its customers, the Logistics Superintendent plays a vital role in how we plan, coordinate and optimise the movement of coal through the terminal. Leading a team of logistics professionals, you will oversee rail, shipping and stockyard planning, balancing customer requirements, terminal capability, operational priorities and the needs of the broader coal chain.

This is a high-impact leadership role that brings customers, operations and industry stakeholders together to deliver safe, efficient and reliable outcomes. Working closely with NCIG’s Operations and Live Run teams, customers and key industry partners you will navigate competing priorities, anticipate challenges and develop plans that maximise terminal performance and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Leading daily, medium and long-term logistics planning across rail, shipping and stockyard operations

  • Owning customer throughput forecasts and translating customer requirements into operational plans

  • Owning the application of terminal operational guidelines and exception handling risk management

  • Overseeing rail schedules, shipping stems, stockpile management and 12-week rail Cargo Assembly Plans

  • Coordinating the interface between operations and planned maintenance

  • Building trusted relationships with customers and ensuring their needs are reflected in service delivery

  • Representing NCIG with key industry stakeholders, including HVCCC and other coal chain partners

  • Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing logistics team

  • Identifying and delivering continuous improvement opportunities

  • Using data and operational insights to improve decision-making and customer outcomes

  • Championing NCIG’s strong health, safety, environment and compliance culture.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will be a confident and influential leader who brings people together, navigates competing priorities and keeps teams focused on the bigger picture. You will have proven stakeholder management skills, strong analytical, planning and problem-solving capability, and the ability to turn complexity into clear, practical outcomes. You’ll be naturally curious and commercially minded, with a genuine drive for continuous improvement and finding better ways of working.

To complement your exceptional leadership capability, you will also have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management or related disciplines and/or substantial experience in a similar role

  • Experience in a complex logistics or operational environment

  • Experience in planning and logistics co-ordination across multiple functions, preferably including rail and shipping functions

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in achieving operational excellence and positive customer outcomes.
