As Projects Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the infrastructure, systems and improvement projects that enable NCIG to operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.

As a senior leader within the Assets and Infrastructure Team, you will lead projects from business justification through to execution, commissioning, and handover. Managing a portfolio of business-critical projects, you will ensure initiatives align with NCIG’s strategic objectives, stakeholder expectations, and Project Management Framework governance requirements.

Working closely with the Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams, you will bring structure, discipline and strong project leadership to complex challenges, balancing safety, risk, cost, schedule, and quality to deliver outcomes that make a real difference.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Provide visible leadership and accountability for all Health, Safety and Environment practices across project delivery
  • Collaborate widely with other leaders to ensure projects achieve outcomes that are consistently aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and plans
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including indirect reports and contractor resources
  • Champion the application of best practice, fit for purpose project governance. Own the end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent capital and operational projects, managing risk, cost, schedule, and quality outcomes.
  • Lead the scoping, estimating, and scheduling of business-critical projects to support the life of terminal R&M and capital planning process
  • Manage project delivery including justification, planning, execution, commissioning, and handover, ensuring seamless integration into ongoing operations
  • Provide clear, timely and professional reporting and stakeholder engagement to governance forums, including steering committees and senior stakeholders.

Candidates

To be successful in this role, you will bring proven leadership capability and the ability to influence, inspire, and bring people together to achieve shared outcomes. You will combine strong business and commercial acumen with a practical, action-oriented approach, enabling you to navigate complexity and make sound decisions. As an exceptional communicator, you can develop and articulate the story behind a project, building understanding, shaping decisions, and gaining stakeholder commitment.

To complement your leadership capability, you will also have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Extensive project management experience within construction or heavy industry
  • Demonstrated delivery of multi discipline business critical projects in an operational environment
  • Extensive experience utilising modern project management tools and techniques including cost management
  • Up to date knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
