NCIG is a proud partner of HunterWiSE, an inspiring initiative led by a group of passionate women who are STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) academics at the University of Newcastle. Their mission is to empower and create opportunities for young women and girls pursuing careers in STEM industries.
Over the past five years, we believe our partnership has made a significant impact. Every year, young women from the program, are given the incredible opportunity to visit our facilities, engage with our technical professionals, and discover the wide range of career possibilities within our industry.
This program holds deep meaning for many NCIG team members, and one individual in particular, Structural Engineer Emma Creasey, has embraced it with unwavering passion.
Reflecting on her involvement, Emma shares, “Every year, I am thrilled to meet the next generation of STEM superstars. I’ve enjoyed sharing my own career journey, along with the valuable insights I wish I had known when I was their age, like choosing the subjects that would shape my future.”
Emma highlights the program’s strength as a collaborative effort between industry, the university, and schools. She adds, “If I had been exposed to such an initiative during my school days, it would have given me a clearer understanding of the available opportunities, making my career pathway more visible.”
Through our enduring partnership with HunterWiSE, NCIG remains committed to supporting and nurturing young women’s aspirations in STEM, paving the way for a brighter and more inclusive future.
